About the event

Frankie Arpino (Yoga, Reiki & Breathwork practitioner) and Laurie Glenn (Reiki & Acupuncturist practitioner and Cacao Facilitator) invite you to join them for a special 3-hour workshop to nourish the mind, body and heart to support you during the winter months, the deepest yin of the year.

During our evening together Frankie and Laurie will take you through Somatic movement & Breathwork to move your energy  & to help with circulation and warming.  This will be followed by ceremonial cacao to open your heart and 2 hours of healing Reiki infused Yin yoga to teach us how to work with the energies within and around us.

This workshop will combine the Five Element system of Chinese medicine and Yin Yoga as a way to explore and experience their deep energetic emotional and physical healing effects.

Yin yoga is a quiet and contemplative practice that works deeply into our body with passive, longer-held poses.Yin targets the deepest tissues of the body, our connective tissues: ligaments, joints, bones, and the deep fascia networks of the body rather than the muscles (which are the physical focus of Yang yoga practices).Energetically, Yin yoga improves the energy flow, enhancing the flow of chi in the organs. To be healthy, we need healthy organs as well as healthy muscles. Yin yoga also offers wonderful emotional and mental health benefits.

Reiki is a Japanese Hands on Healing modality. It is used to help with stress reduction, relaxation, and general wellbeing and balance. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.

Ceremonial Cacao: Cacao is a sacred plant from the Amazon, known as the medicine of the heart and the food of the Gods, used as a source of healthy energy, it is uplifting for the mood. It has many health benefits from release of anxiety and a deep connection to the heart.
